Victor Moses and his Chelsea teammate now have a six-point advantage at the summit of the English Premier League table following Wednesday night’s 1-0 win over relegation battlers, Sunderland.
It was the 10th win in a row for Moses and his teammates who are now seen as one of the firm favourites for the league title in England.
Moses, who had a largely decent game, was yellow-carded in the 90th minute before he was substituted.
As it has been the case all season, Moses’ compatriot, John Obi Mikel, was not involved.
Unfortunately, Victor Anichebe picked up an injury just before the game and did not make the 18-man Sunderland squad.
Elsewhere, Odion Ighalo returned to Watford’s starting XI but fired blanks yet again as his team were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City. Kelechi Iheanacho was relegated to the bench for this one.
There was some cheering news as Isaac Success made his long-awaited return from injury. He came on the hour mark, while Stefano Okaka was not involved for the Hornets due to a hamstring injury.
At White Hart Lane, Dele Alli played for 62 minutes as Tottenham Hotspur thrashed Hull City 3-0.
